We are delighted to announce that Brigadier General Laura Yeager, WG#1960, will be giving a presentation as part of our education day events during HAI HELI-EXPO in Atlanta. Her talk, entitled Winning as a Woman in a Male-Dominated Field, will take place at the main convention center.

Brigadier General Yeager brings a wealth of experience to share with attendees. She assumed command of Joint Task Force North on September 29, 2017. Prior to her current assignment, she served as the Director of Joint Staff of the California National Guard.
Her active military service began in May of 1986 after receiving her commission as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the California State University, Long Beach. Her assignments included Medical Platoon Leader in Fort Lewis, Assistant Floor Administrator and Company Commander at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Aeromedical Platoon Leader at Fort Hood, and Instructor at the Army Medical Department Center and School at Fort Sam Houston.
After transitioning to the National Guard in 1995, Brigadier General Yeager served in a variety of
assignments in both the California and Texas National Guard including Deputy Commander of the 40th Combat Aviation Brigade during its deployment in support of Operation NEW DAWN 2010-2011. She assumed command of the same brigade in 2012.
Brigadier General Yeager’s awards and qualifications include the Legion of Merit (2OLC),
Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC), the Expert Field Medical Badge, the Army
Parachutist Badge, and Senior Army Aviator Badge. She is qualified as a UH-1 Pilot/Instructor
Pilot and UH-60 Pilot.
She and her husband, Curtis, have four grown sons.
