  Whirly-Girls will be sponsoring a booth at the WAI conference. We need volunteers to rotate during the hours of operation for the exhibit hall to sign up members, give out brochures, and other things we might have. Please contact Patricia Calder, patricia-calder@gmx.de, for signing up so that we can put together a warm reception for the membership.

HELI-EXPO in Houston, Texas

Helicopter Association International (HAI) is hosting the annual HELI-EXPO helicopter exposition in February this year. The Whirly-Girls are holding their annual hovering and awards banquet the same weekend:

• HELI-EXPO Events: Please note there have been updates to the Whirly-Girl event schedule. Take a look at our Event List and the HELI-EXPO page -- they list Whirly-Girl events at HELI-EXPO in Houston. We'll be at booth 500. 
• Don't miss Pete Gillies of Western Helicopters, Inc. speak about Advanced Mountain Flying on Sunday, February 21 at 10:30. Location TBA.
• Note: the banquet is a luncheon this year! You can download the request form for banquet tickets or day passes here. Make sure to specify your meal preference: chicken, salmon, or vegetarian. (Note: the form has been updated as of 11 January 2010.)
• Housing: Want to share a hotel room in Houston? Post a note on our Message Board. (Members must log in first.)
• Day Passes: We have a limited number of discounted day passes that we are offering for $50 to our members. Sale of these passes is on a first come/first served basis. You can download the request form in MS doc form here. After downloading the form, you can fax, mail, or email it to our treasurer. (Note: the form was updated on 11 January 2010.) 
  
  Please note: students who can get a letter from their school or instructor can get passes to visit the exposition hall for $10 per day. For more details, visit the HELI-EXPO website. 

Become a Member
Whirly-Girls was formed in 1955 by Jean Ross Howard Phelan, who wanted to build a community where female helicopter pilots could share and grow. Today it has grown to include the largest source of scholarships for female helicopter pilots. Membership is open to any woman with a helicopter license. Additionally, the Whirly-Girls Auxillary is available to those who are not eligible for regular membership. Membership affords you access to exclusive areas of the website, including job listings and networking opportunities.
