Pete Gillies of Western Helicopters, Inc., Rialto, California, will speak about the real world of mountain flying. All of you have heard the typical mountain-flying lecture given in flight schools, information that you need to know to pass the knowledge and skill tests to become a helicopter pilot. But how about the knowledge and skills needed to work in the mountain environment day in and day out, making landings and takeoffs from places you've never seen before while not abusing the helicopter or scaring the passengers?
