Saturday, February 11
- 8:00 am Annual Business Meeting/Hovering in the Senators Lecture Hall at the Hilton Anatole
All are welcome to attend our annual business meeting where we will hear reports from the Board members and count the ballots from this year's election. Remember – all members who have paid their dues through 2012 will be sent ballots to be counted at the business meeting. Those who have provided email addresses will be contacted electronically. The new Board will then be introduced. We will also welcome the new Whirly-Girls who joined in 2011.
This session will be followed by the annual Hovering, where all Whirly-Girls and their guests will be invited to tell us (in three minutes or less, please) what's been happening over the course of the year.
- 1:00 pm How to Speak Whirly-Girl in the Senators Lecture Hall at the Hilton Anatole
Did you ever want to represent the Whirly-Girls at an event, or introduce the organization to a potential member or donor, but didn't know what to say? Lisa Di Giovanna will lead a session that will give you pointers on how to represent the Whirly-Girls. Attendees will break into groups and practice introducing the organization.
- 2:00 pm Career Panel in the Senators Lecture Hall at the Hilton Anatole
Stacy Sheard of Sikorsky Helicopters and Janie Foster of ERA Helicopters will be acting Chairs of our annual Career Panel. This event is designed for pilots who want to hear from experienced voices in the industry. It is your opportunity to ask direct questions about hiring issues, including resume writing and interviewing, to experience requirements, career path options, etc. Come get advice from the pros.
- 6:30 pm Silent Auction
The Silent Auction is a great way to help support the Whirly-Girls Scholarship Fund while bidding on vacations, helicopter models, jackets, and other terrific items. This year, the Silent Auction will be led by Lisa Di Giovanna and will be taking place right next to the entrance to HAI's member reception. Come bid on items while socializing. And if you have items to donate or know of a company who could provide items for the Silent Auction, please contact Lisa Di Giovanna at lisadigiovanna@ca.rr.com.
- 8:00 pm Scholarship Awards Banquet in the Peacock Terrace at the Hilton Anatole
The Silent Auction will be followed by our annual Awards Banquet where we announce the 2012 Scholarship winners and present the volunteer and Livingston awards. This lovely event celebrates the women who are pursuing their dreams of helicopter flight as well as our sponsors and volunteers who support them. Banquet tickets must be purchased in advance of HELI-EXPO so we can order meals and arrange seating. Please make your reservations no later than Feb 1, 2012 .
